Queenshill Estate in Kirkcudbrightshire is a delightful mixture of glorious parkland, pretty woodland and undulating hills - the perfect landscape in which to wander and roam freely. In its heyday, the estate had what we would now consider a 'stately home' dominating its immediate landscape. You can still see the site where it stood. Sadly the house is no longer, but memories and photographs of the house still exist. As one wanders around the leafy estate it's not difficult to imagine living a 'Downton Abbey' style existence - whether upstairs or down!
